2023 The Overtrained Youth Athlete

The speaker for this course will discuss treatment protocols for the over-trained youth athlete. Topics of discussion include a discussion of current healthcare trends, contributors to the healthcare “crisis,” potential solutions, getting involved in the youth sports movement, repetitive motion injuries, the most common injuries in youth sports, traditional medical vs. the chiropractic approach to these injuries, the biomechanics of young athletes, injury prevention, diagnostic testing, and clinical applications and gems, including diagnostic and therapeutic protocols for youth sports. 6 CEs possible. Dr. Alan Smith, DC

Alan Smith, DC, a 2001 graduate of Parker, has built two successful multi-disciplinary practices. His current clinic, the Axiom Wellness Center in Jacksonville, is a family-based, subluxation-centered, cash practice named after the five axioms of health – Chiropractic, Exercise, Positive Mental Attitude, Nutrition, and Sleep. He is a member of the Florida Chiropractic Association, and the Wellness Coalition of America. He is a lifetime member of the Parker College Association and the recipient of the James W. Parker Philosophy Award.
