Dr. Rita Walters, PhD.
Dr. Rita Walters holds a PhD and a Master’s degree in Social Work from Michigan State University, along with a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice from Lincoln University. Her professional expertise includes clinical social work, cultural competence, and international social work. She has focused her research on topics related to children with disabilities and their families, and her academic contributions extend to numerous presentations at national conferences.
Dr. Walters is a licensed clinical social worker with various affiliations, including the Lansing Area AIDS Network Board of Directors and the Wayne State University Developmental Disabilities Institute Advisory Council. She has led initiatives related to fostering partnerships through study abroad programs and creating inclusive educational environments.
